Dr. Jeff Macomber, Southern Jazz Orchestra (SJO) Director, says snow closures this week and last resulted in the loss of two critical rehearsals for the group.

As a result the SJO SHOWCASE performance, originally scheduled for Feb. 28, has been canceled.

“We want the performance to be a positive experience,” Dr. Macomber says. “Given the circumstances and lack of rehearsal time, we feel it would be best to call the show off.”

The SJO performances are customarily heavily attended by students, faculty/staff, the public and MSSU retirees.

No new date for the performance has been announced.
