Missouri Southern State University’s Annual Fund proves that giving should begin “at home.”

The faculty at Missouri Southern significantly increased their contributions to the Southern Annual Fund this year.  In the 2012 campaign, 7.5 percent (15) of the faculty participated in the drive.  This year, 50 percent (101) faculty contributed with an average of nearly $63 per donor!

A departmental competition resulted in the English department donating the most money per faculty member ($87).  The Social Science department took second place with $78 per faculty member.

Four departments had 100% participation:  Kinesiology, Dental Hygiene, Nursing, and EMT/Respiratory Therapy/Radiology

“I am very pleased with the generosity displayed by our faculty,” said Dr. Pat Lipira, vice president for academic affairs.  “This is a reflection of their commitment to Missouri Southern.”

“We’re fortunate that our faculty members truly believe in helping support the University,” said Michael Fontana, development officer for the Missouri Southern Foundation. “Gifts  signal strong confidence in our institution and students.”

The Annual Fund, held every spring, invites MSSU faculty, staff, alumni and friends to contribute to the Missouri Southern Foundation.

Funds go to assist with scholarships, programs and other efforts at Missouri Southern
