Missouri Southern State University’s 60th graduating class includes 104 students who will graduate with honors at the University’s Commencement ceremonies beginning at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 11 in Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.

Twenty-five students receiving undergraduate degrees earned a four-year grade point average of 3.9 or above on a 4.0 scale and will graduate Summa Cum Laude.

Seven of those students had a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Those students are: Vera Jabbour Joseph, Neosho; Shayla L. Moore, Carl Junction; Hayley Elizabeth Mullins, Diamond; Callie C. Munson, Joplin; Ryan M. Prisock, Joplin; Destinie Hope Roque, Joplin; and Mashea Angelea Shultz, Columbus, Kan.

Twenty-two students will graduate Magna Cum Laude with grade point averages of 3.80 to 3.89.

Forty-two students will graduate Cum Laude with grade point averages of 3.70 to 3.79.

Three students receiving Associate Degrees will graduate with First Honors, indicating a grade point average of 3.9 to 4.0

Five students receiving Associate Degrees will graduate with Second Honors, indicating a grade point average of 3.0 to 3.89.

Seven students receiving Associate Degrees will graduate with Third Honors indicating a grade point average of 3.70 to 3.79.

The university will stream the event live, broadcasting commencement activities using the university’s official website (http://www.mssu.edu).

The webcast will be accessible on either a PC or Mac system. The ceremony,can be viewed at http://www.mssu.edu/news/commencement-video.php . Computers will need to be installed with a media player such as Windows Media Player or Real Player.

The Missouri Southern State University ceremonies also will be televised live on Saturday, May 11. The first ceremony, at 9:30 a.m., features the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Health Sciences, Public Safety and Technology.

The second ceremony, scheduled to begin at noon, features the Robert W. Plaster School of Business and the School of Education. Both ceremonies will be recorded for rebroadcast, with the Arts and Science/Technology ceremony airing at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 12 and the Business /Education ceremony airing at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 13.
