About 900 new students, 4,500 returning students and hundreds of faculty and staff members on the MSSU campus are all large consumers of local products.
During Community Day, many local businesses and organizations provided giveaway items, food samples and/or coupons. Popular items included t-shirts, bottled water, coupons, ice cream and sandwiches.
Nicole Brown, Director of Career Services and Special Assistant to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, says the businesses were challenged to use their imaginations to attract thousands of students, faculty and staff. She says registration increased from 31 last year to 103 this year.
