The month of October is Missouri’s Disability Awareness Month.  The Disability Awareness Fair is designed  for all campus students, faculty and staff to learn about services available for people with disabilities and their families.  It also provides a great venue to find opportunities for volunteer work.

Area agencies will be in attendance to share information about the services they offer to people with disabilities.

Lori Musser, Coordinator of Student Disability Services, says 15 agencies are slated to attend.

They include:  Community Support Services of Missouri, Independent Living Center, Vocational Rehabilitation, First Steps of SW Missouri, Missouri Rehabilitation Center, Horses of Hope, Out of Step, The Arc of the Ozarks, Bill & Virginia Leffen’s Center for Autism, Project Stay, Special Olympics, Joplin Association for the Blind, The Alliance of SW Missouri, Joplin Regional Office Division of Developmental Disabilities and
Alternative Opportunities.
