No one should have to go without such a basic necessity as a coat!  The MSSU Golden Crest Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa- the National Leadership Honor Society is collecting clean, reusable coats, jackets and other warm wear to assist the One Warm Coat community service effort.

Coats of all shapes and sizes are welcome and teen sizes are most needed.  One Warm Coat is dedicated to distributing reusable coats, free of charge, directly to local children and adults. The program is a wonderful way for you and your family to pass along coats and jackets that you no longer need.

Omicron Delta Kappa has made donating a coat simple. Just bring your clean, gently used coats and jackets to the Blue Boxes, located in the following campus buildings:  Billingsly Student Center, Criminal Justice, Health Sciences, Hearnes Hall, Kuhn Hall, Leggett and Platt Athletic Center, Plaster Hall, Reynolds Hall, Spiva Library, Student Life Center, Taylor Education, Taylor Performing Arts Center, and Webster Hall.

The Coat Drive began on Tuesday, Oct. 23 and will last until Monday, Nov. 18.

Donated coats will go to the Joplin Bright Futures Program to help students in need of warm winter wear.

“More people than ever need help these days,” commented Sherri Wood, President and National Coordinator for One Warm Coat.  “I am proud of the thousands of coat drive organizers whose creativity and generosity of spirit have made helping people so easy and who are making a real difference in their own communities,”

One Warm Coat is a national non-profit organization that supports and encourages coat drives.  Since its inception in 1992, more than one million coats have been provided to those in need at no cost.
