Dr. Catherine E. Chatal will be the guest speaker during the Employee Live Well Lunch Series event set for 12:05 P.M. Thursday, Jan. 30, in BSC 356.
Chatal, who joined Mercy Clinic Plastic Surgery in Joplin in December 2013, will speak on the topic of skin care/body contouring/breast reconstruction.
Chatal completed her undergraduate education at Seattle University and went on to complete her studies at the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington. Following graduation, she completed a pediatric internship at the University of Washington in Seattle, followed by four years of general surgery residency at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, N.Y., two years of plastic surgery residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in New York City and finally a one year fellowship in breast reconstruction at the Center for Breast and Body Contouring in Grand Rapids, Mich. She has also spent time in Uganda, Africa, on a medical mission with The Smile Train performing cleft lip and palate repairs. She is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
The event is free to all Missouri Southern faculty, staff, retirees and their spouses. Lunch will be provided, but participants may also bring their own. Questions are welcome during the session.
