Ten students were inducted into the Super Leaders program during a ceremony held April 26 at Missouri Southern State University.
The inductees for the spring 2014 semester were Cena Bass, Jared Beasley, William Braun, Aliza Fahle, Gage Hanlon, Lindsey Miller, Matthew Pulsipher, Chase Starr-Kercheval, Kenzo Van Baal Breda and Joseph Vanhorn.
“I have the opportunity to work with great students every semester with the Super Leader program,” said Nicole Brown, director of career services. “The Spring 2014 group was exceptionally engaged and interested in learning about the community. They have gone above and beyond to volunteer in the community and reach out to business professionals they met through the program. I am excited to see what their future holds.”
Brown said that Super Leader groups from Fall 2012, Spring 2013, Fall 2013 and those just recently inducted will be volunteering their time on Saturday to help developmentally disabled students play baseball at the Will Norton Miracle Field.
The Super Leader program is a joint effort between Missouri Southern and the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Network to identify, cultivate and motivate future community leaders currently enrolled in college. All students participating in the program go through an application and interview process in addition to meeting every other Friday throughout the semester.
Upon completion of the program, students receive a one-year complimentary Young Professionals Network membership to help them continue with professional networking.
