Linglong Li, an adjunct instructor for the last year in the International English Program at Missouri Southern, died Tuesday at Table Rock Lake.
Li, of Carthage, was swimming with friends and family when she went under water and failed to surface, according to the Missouri State Water Patrol.
Kaitlin Gram, an assistant professor with the International English Program, said that Li “radiated positive energy” and will be missed.
“As a first year teacher, she faced many challenges; however, it only inspired her to learn more,” said Gram. “She had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and was a formidable proponent for the power of education. More so, she was a wonderful friend.
“Her attitude and perspective on life could restore anyone’s faith in humanity. Our students were lucky to have such a passionate and hopeful character. I am truly blessed for having known Roselee and greatly saddened by this loss in education.”
