Craig Gullett, coordinator of student services, has been invited to speak at the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA) conference Oct. 23-25 in Arlington, Texas.
He will speak about how Missouri Southern has saved money in order to host more events.
One way that the Campus Activities Board has saved money is by running its own photo booth during events. Previously, the campus hired companies to come in and run the photo booths that were available at special events throughout the year.
“Whenever the companies would come and set up their equipment, I would scope it out and check the costs,” said Gullett.
After presenting his findings to CAB, the student organization voted to purchase the equipment and learned how to operate all of it themselves. The money saved has meant that CAB can offer more fun activities to the campus.
After speaking at the NACA conference, Gullett said he will attend other education sessions and hopefully bring back other fun ideas to implement on campus.
