New faculty members gathered for orientation sessions this week.

“The (Wednesday morning) session was about what it means to be a faculty member at MSSU and what the expectations are,” said Crystal Lemmons, assistant vice president of academic affairs.

“We had different speakers to talk to them. Darren Fullerton talked about the student affairs area, Michael Garoutte talked about Faculty Senate, and Wendy McGrane gave an overview of the library. It’s information that, as a faculty member, you need to know.”

A Thursday morning session focused on HR issues as well as Outlook, Lionnet and Blackboard access. New adjunct members gathered for orientation on Thursday evening, Lemmons said.

A total of 24 full-time faculty members will be joining Missouri Southern for the fall semester. Adjunct instructors are still being hired, she said.
