“Distant” will be screened at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, in Cornell Auditorium as part of the 35th annual International Film Festival.
With slow and careful persistence, the film gradually reveals the alienation and loneliness of Mahmut, a recently divorced Istanbul photographer who opens his home and life to a troublesome, aimless relative. The quiet, probing film meditates on “distance” in every sense of the word.
The International Film Festival was founded in 1962. All of the screenings are free and open to the public. For more information, visithttp://mssu.edu/international-studies/film-festival/.
