Southern Company will present the annual “ONSTAGE” production at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in Webster Hall’s Corley Auditorium

A production of the vocal studies program, it will include a wide variety of vocal music – from opera to musical theater. It opens with Stephen Sondheim’s rousing “Company” and includes costumed and staged scenes from Mozart’s operas “Don Giovanni,” “Cosi fan tutte,” “The Marriage of Figaro” and “The Magic Flute.”

The second half will feature selections from Broadway musical theater, including “Gimme Gimme,” “New York, New York” and “We Can Do It.”

“This year we have an outstanding cast of 25 music majors and minors and theater majors,” said Dr. Susan Smith, producer and one of the show’s directors. “This will be our final production of ‘ONSTAGE.’ Look for something new next year!”

Voice faculty members Dr. Jordan Wilson and Michelle Espinosa will also direct. Glenda Austin, Kathy Nenadal and Debra Snodgrass will serve as accompanists.
