Missouri Southern was presented with the Gold Level Fit-Friendly Worksite Award this week.
The award, presented Wednesday
by the American Heart Association, recognizes employers who go above and beyond when it comes to their employees’ health.
“We’ve consistently received the award the last five years,” said Heather Arnold, the university’s wellness coordinator. “We’re one of just 266 companies in the Midwest region to get it this year.”
The plaque was presented by Karl Schmidt, corporate events director for the AHA’s office in Springfield. Along with the award, Fit-Friendly Worksite honorees receive recognition on the organization’s website and at local events, an official regognition letter and consultation on workplace wellness, CPR and automated external defibrillator programs, and more.
