Joplin, MO (SNS) –A new student-produced program is scheduled to debut on KGCS-TV next week, while the upcoming edition of “Newsmakers” will focus on local tourism efforts.

The new program, “Window on the World,” features interviews with international students at Missouri Southern State University.  Host Natalie Cossey visits with five international students representing Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Curacao and Colombia.  They discuss what brought them to Missouri Southern to study, as well as information about their home countries and culture.

Monday, April 6 – 9:30 p.m.
Tuesday, April 7 – 6 p.m.
Monday, April 13 – 9:30 p.m.
Tuesday, April 14 – 6:00 p.m.

Patrick Tuttle, director of the Joplin Convention and Visitors Bureau, will discuss efforts to promote Joplin during his appearance on “Newmakers.” He cites increased interest in Route 66 and local sites, as well as ways in which the CVB is marketing the community.

“Newsmakers” will air at the following times:

Sunday, April 5 – 5:30 p.m.
Monday, April 6 – 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, April 7 – 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, April 8 – 5:30 p.m.

It will also air at 5 a.m. Saturday, April 11, on KOAM.

Programming may be seen over the air on digital channel 22 and on regional cable television systems. Both “Window on the World” and “Newsmakers” are available to view on the KGCS YouTube channel.
