Joplin, MO (SNS) – More than 130 area vendors will be on hand for Community Day on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Missouri Southern State University. Businesses, nonprofits and other organizations will set up booths on the Oval, allowing representatives to connect with thousands of new and returning students during Welcome Week.
“Offered as a ‘thank you’ for their continued support of Missouri Southern, Community Day is a chance for businesses and other organizations to reach out to the campus community and introduce students, faculty and staff to what they have to offer,” said Nicole Brown, director of Career Services.
Sponsors for the event include BioLife, Choices Express Testing, Freeman Health System, Dr. Jill Saia Pile, Salon Brands, Joplin Metro Credit Union, Express Employment Professionals, MSSU’s Show-Me Gold program, Heart of America Beverage Company, Calvary Chapel, Tropical Tan, Carlson Chiropractic Center, OK Bar & Billiards, Access Family Care, Renewed Mental Health and Midtown Pizza Kitchen.
In the event of rain, Community Day activities will be moved to Billingsly Student Center. For more information and a complete list of vendors, visit www.mssu.edu/career/student-events.php.
