Missouri Southern will observe a moment of silence at noon Friday, Sept. 11, to honor those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
Darren Fullerton, vice president of student affairs, and Sergeant First Class Joseph Dixon will offer a few words to the campus community. Throughout the morning, members of the Campus Activities Board will read the names of the victims. Both events will take place at the Freedom Flag Plaza.
CAB will also be showing the 2011 film “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close” at 6:30 p.m. that evening in Phelps Theater. This story chronicles a 9-year-old amateur inventor, who searches New York City for a lock that matches a mysterious key left behind by his father, who died in the World Trade Center. This event is free and open to the public.
