The Southern Symphony Orchestra will present “La Musica Espanola” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, in Taylor Performing Arts Center.
Under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Macomber, the orchestra will be joined by classical guitarist Robert Gruca as they spotlight the music of Spain. The program will feature Manuel de Falla’s concert suite from “El Armor Brujo,” Joaquin Rodrigo’s “Concerto de Aranjuez” for guitar and orchestra and Bizet’s “Carmen Symphony.”
Gruca has toured the United States and Europe with the Cleveland Orchestra and has earned several prizes in national guitar competitions. He teaches at the Cleveland Music School Settlement and started the first Suzuki guitar program in northeast Ohio in 2013.
The concert is free and open to the public.
