Joplin, MO (SNS) – An articulation agreement between the honors programs at Missouri Southern State University and Ozark Technical Community College in Springfield, Mo., will be formalized during a signing ceremony at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, in Billingsly Student Center’s Connor Ballroom.

Dr. Michael Howarth, director of Missouri Southern’s Honors Program, will be joined by Dr. Todd Yerby, director of OTC’s program, as well as administrators from both schools.

The honors courses at the two schools will be compatible, simplifying the transition process for students at the two-year college to the four-year university. Similar agreements have been made with Northwest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville, Ark., and Crowder College in Neosho, Mo.

“We’ll accept their honors credits to make that transition easier,” said Howarth. “We’ve traveled to these schools, talked to their honors students and told them about our program. They know that we’re in their corner.”

The agreement will go into effect for the Spring 2016 semester.
