Korea has been chosen for the Fall 2017 themed semester, according to Dr. Chad Stebbins, director of the Institute of International Studies.
“We would explore issues pertaining to both South and North Korea,” Stebbins said. “The faculty who provided input felt that a Fall 2017 Korea Semester would be very timely, given that the Winter Olympics will be held in PyeongChang, South Korea, in February 2018.
“After focusing on European countries the past few years, we liked the idea of moving to a completely different part of the world. We also have two new partner universities in South Korea that would probably lend assistance.”
Fall 2016 will be the Great Britain Semester. The next planning meeting will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26 in Webster Hall 357.
