Missouri Southern’s Super Leaders program is now in its fourth year.

Now in its eighth semester, the program is a joint effort between Missouri Southern and the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals Network to identify, cultivate and motivate future community leaders currently enrolled in college.

“It is exciting to see 11 students complete a semester of personal and professional growth,” said Nicole Brown, director of Career Services. “The students have been in awe of the numerous opportunities in the community that they never knew existed.”

The Spring 2016 inductees are:

Caroline Adams: sophomore, biology major, Carl Junction, Mo.
Chelsey Caballero: senior, marketing major, Ozark, Mo.
Josh Foster: senior, international business and management major, Bentonville, Ark.
Jayse Henderson: freshman, early childhood education major, Purdy, Mo.
Kacie Hulse: senior, business and life health science major, Maryland Heights, Mo.

Participants completed eight sessions that explored topics such as Motive Matters and leadership development, small business and economic development, non-profits, science and technology, manufacturing and international business, healthcare, and marketing, media and advertising.

The program is offered each fall and spring semester. Students must apply into the program, complete an application process, and commit to attending sessions every other Friday throughout the semesters.

“It’s a great opportunity for students to explore the Joplin region and get a behind the scenes look at how the community functions,” said Brown.
