Below is a link to results from the annual Region 6 History Day, held March 10 on the campus of Missouri Southern State University.
Presented by the Social Sciences Department, the event drew more than 200 entries from students in area high schools, junior high school, middle school and home schoolers. The theme for this year’s event was “Taking a Stand in History.”
Participating schools included Carthage High School, Carthage Junior High, College Heights Christian School Joplin East Middle School, Joplin North Middle School, Joplin South Middle School, Joplin High School, Lamar High School, Mount Vernon Middle School, Neosho Christian School, Neosho Junior High, Neosho High School, Seneca Iva E. Wells Junior High, Southwest (Washburn), Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School and Wheaton R-III.
Winners from the contest – one of nine in Missouri – will have the opportunity to compete in the National History Day event on April 29 at the University of Missouri-Columbia. The state winners will advance to the national contest in June in College Park, Md.
