Belk to offer ITS Friday presentation on Feb. 23

Brad Belk, Missouri Southern’s community historian, will offer the next ITS Friday presentation at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, in the fourth-floor Quiet Room in Spiva Library.

Belk will offer a presentation on a project that will restore, preserve and memorialize the former residences of Charles Schifferdecker, Edward Zelleken and Alfred Harrison Rogers – which are all located in Joplin’s Murpysburg Historic District. Platted in 1871, these Victorian structures were part of the first organized neighborhood development west of Main Street.

The Ideas That Stick presentations encourage the campus to come together for a free exchange of ideas. All members of the faculty and staff are invited. No RSVP is necessary. Refreshments will be offered.
