The Spiva Art Gallery will host a movie/maker event from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9.

Participants will watch a film about Brazilian dance and music, while simultaneously creating personal “carnival” (craft) masks.

The event is offered in conjunction with the current “Bandits & Heroes, Poets & Saints: Popular Art of the Northeast of Brazil” exhibit. It includes nearly 200 works of art by more than 50 artists and is comprised of three segments that present the history and culture of Northeast Brazil through popular art.

Open to all ages – especially children and families – it will include a private tour of the exhibit. Supplies will be provided. To RSVP, contact Bentley-C@mssu.edu by 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7.
