For a second consecutive year, a number of departments in the Julio S. León Health Sciences Building at Missouri Southern State University will take part in a disaster simulation exercise.

The all-day event – which will focus on the establishment of a triage in the event of a plant explosion – is planned for Friday, April 26, inside Health Sciences. It will involve students, faculty and staff from the Respiratory Therapy, Nursing, Radiology and EMS / Paramedic departments.

“We do this so our students can interact with each other and take care of patients just like they would in a hospital or out in the field,” said Caleb Lewis, MSSU Simulation Center Coordinator. “It’s just something that helps prepare them when it comes to their skills and teamwork.”

Attached is the agenda for the simulation.
