Joplin, MO (SNS) – The upcoming edition of “Newmakers” on KGCS-TV will focus on the city of Joplin’s Public Works Department, while other programs focus on tourism and recent concerts offered at Missouri Southern State University.
Public Works Director Nick Heatherly will discuss the 20th Street railroad project and other road projects planned in Joplin. “Newsmakers” will air at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, May 3, through Wednesday, May 6, on KGCS, and at 5 a.m. Saturday, May 9, on KOAM.
“Tourism Matters” will debut at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, May 3. Hosted by Joplin Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Patrick Tuttle, a variety of people involved with local tourism – from restaurants and businesses to arts and culture – will be interviewed.
It will also air at 9 p.m. Monday, May 4, and 9:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, May 5-7. Episodes will repeat in the coming weeks.
Recent concerts offered by the Music Department will also air in the coming week.
The percussion ensemble concert will be broadcast at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 3; the wind ensemble and concert band performance at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 6; and the jazz orchestra concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 7.
KGCS programming may be seen over the air on digital channel 22 and on regional cable television systems. The station operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
