According to the U.S Census Bureau, nearly 1 in 5 Americans have some kind of disability.
However, based on information provided by DisabilityStatistics.org, of disabled Americans who are between 16-64 years of age, only an estimated 35 percent are employed in today’s workforce. That’s a lot of untapped talent!
The HR Training department will host a supervisor-level webinar entitled “The Untapped Talent Pool” from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, in BSC 341.
Attendees will learn ways to build a workforce that includes individuals with disabilities while challenging the paradigm around career development for people with impairments. They will also evaluate the mission-critical relationship between on-the-job development that can be offered to individuals with disabilities and how to advocate for their success in the work place.
