Two new programs airing the week of March 12 on KGCS-TV will focus on the past and present of the city of Carthage.
The “Newsmakers” interview program features Carthage Chamber President Mark Elliff sharing information about economic development and the community today. The city is also featured on a special historical program, “Portrait of Carthage.” That program features a brief introduction, then a 1985 presentation by newsman Bob Phillips. It features a look at the city’s history as well as a view of what it was like in 1985.
Both programs air in the evenings throughout the week of March 12. “Newsmakers” airs at 5:30 p.m. The history program will air at 7 p.m.
KGCS programming may be seen over the air on digital channel 22 and on regional cable television systems, including Cable One, Mediacom and Suddenlink.
The programs are also posted on the KGCS YouTube channel, “KGCS Missouri Southern.”
KGCS operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
