This summer, Missouri Southern will upgrade to the new Banner 9 system.
Banner is currently used across campus in its native version (Banner 8) and in a self-service option (LioNet) to enhance productivity and communication among users. The system performs a variety of functions from student recruitment and course enrollment to personnel management and data collection to budgetary and finance oversight. Upgrading to Banner 9 will impact every employee of Missouri Southern – full- and part-time, on- and off-campus.
To ensure a smooth transition, the IT department and HR Training are working together to develop and host a number of Banner 9 training sessions between now and the start of the fall semester. Trainings will be divided into four stages, the first of which will be Banner 9: The Basics.
Banner 9: The Basics training will be held May 16-25 in Phelps Theatre (specific dates and times listed below). Each training session will highlight changes in the system’s navigation as well as introduce attendees to the Employee Profile/Dashboard feature. It is recommended all campus employees plan on attending one of the training sessions.
Sessions are scheduled for the following dates:
Tuesday, May 16: 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Wednesday, May 17: 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Monday, May 22: 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Thursday, May 25: 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
To reserve a seat for a Banner 9: The Basics session, contact HRtraining@mssu.edu or call ext. 4499.
The second stage of training will be Banner 9: Hands-On and is scheduled for June 5-15 at various computer labs across campus. Additional information on these sessions as well as future training stages will be made available in the coming weeks.
