The Southern Summit Task Force is currently accepting proposals for session speakers at the 2019 Southern Summit, to be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, and Wednesday, Oct. 30, in Billingsly Student Center.
Four educational tracks have been selected:
· Leadership: Presentations enhancing leadership skills, sharing strategies to build effective teams or exploring methods to inspire organizations.
· Pedagogy & Policy: Presentations relevant to curriculum development, utilizing new instructional tools, improving classroom policies, or supporting student success.
· 21st Century Workforce: Presentations including technology in the workplace, how to use campus computer systems and programs, available online shortcuts, or planned advancements.
· Something Southern: Presentations related to campus initiatives, university personnel or MSSU in general.
All sessions are limited to one hour in length. To offer maximum exposure of session topics, selected speakers are asked to present both days. Every effort will be made to repeat sessions at alternating times. For example, morning sessions on the 29th will repeat as afternoon sessions on the 30th and vice versa. If you are not available both days or for specific hours during Southern Summit, please add this information to the comments section of your proposal. To submit a presentation proposal, please complete the Southern Summit Presentation Proposal Form. Submissions will be accepted until Monday, Aug. 5; however, track subcommittees will be reviewing and selecting presenters monthly. Printed versions of the proposal form are available in the HR office. Increase your chances of securing a session slot by submitting your proposal early!
