Kansas City, Mo. — For the second time this year, Missouri Southern junior guard Marquis Addison has been named the MIAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced today.

Addison (6-4, Olathe, Kan.) helped the Lions to a 2-0 week, defeating Southwest Baptist 100-91 and MIAA leader Central Missouri 93-81 on Saturday. For the week, he averaged 23 points, 8 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 3 steals while shooting .500 from the field and from the three-point line. He scored 26 points, pulled down eight rebounds while dishing out seven assists against Southwest Baptist. He would follow that up with 23 points, six assists and four steals against Central Missouri. Addison broke the 1,000 points scoring mark during the Central Missouri game.

The Lions will be back in action on Wednesday night, when Southern travels to Northeastern State for a 7:30 pm tipoff.
