Warrensburg, Mo. — The Missouri Southern women’s track and field program picked up eight wins at the Central Missouri Classic, as well as another win in Nebraska today as the Lions competed on the road.
At Nebraska, Kaitlyn Belisle picked up a provisional and a win in the 5k with a time of 17.30.82.
At Central Missouri, Brittani Reagan won both the long jump and the triple jump. Reagan was part of a 1-2-3 finish where she picked up a provisional in a distance of 18-2.25. Kaylee Morgan and Taitum Mead placed second and third, respectively, whileShelby Newell, Emily Paullus, Amber White and Miriah Johnson finished 5th, 7th, 8th and 9th.
In the triple jump, Reagan led another strong performance from the Lions as she picked up another provisional in a distance of 39.2.25. White, Newell and Mahogany Jones placed second, third and fourth in the event.
Whitney Hardy picked up a provisional with a win in the high jump in a height of 5-5.75. Shelby Sutherland was second, while Johnson placed fourth. Sydney Haase won the pole vault with a provisional height of 12-4, while Melanie Bower and Ashleigh McFarland placed second and fourth, respectively.
Kylie Cornman won the shot put with a provisional distance of 46-5.25, while placing seventh in the weight throw. JeAnna Sheppard was third in the 60m hurdles, while Mead placed fifth. Jasmin Hughes was second in the 60m dash, while Addie Mengwasser won the mile in a time of 5:24.37.
White won the 400m in a time of 59.75, while Sydney Potts won the 600 yard in a time of 1:28.52. Emily Weldin was third in the 600. Traci Walker and Sagan Graskemper placed fourth and eighth in the 200m.
The Lions will be back in action next weekend competing in the 2013 MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Warrensburg.
