Kansas City, Mo. — Missouri Southern senior forward Erin Rice was named All-MIAA as anounced by the conference office today.
An honorable mention selection this year after being a third-team All-MIAA pick the past two seasons, Rice leads the Lions in scoring on the year averaging 10.3 points per game, including a 11.3 ppg average during the conference season. Starting 12 games for the Lions this season, Rice shot 43.3% from the field on the year while shooting 73.8% from the free throw line. She had a season-high 28 points on 11-of-15 shooting from the field against Emporia State, while going 5-6 from the free throw line.
She has been especially hot from the field over the Lions final four regular season games shooting nearly 50% averaging 17.3 ppg and 6.5 rebounds per game. The ninth all-time leading scorer in Missouri Southern Lions women’s basketball history, Erin has played in 107 career games scoring 1,194 points.
The Lions will be in action tonight in a first-round MIAA Tournament game, taking on the Northwest Missouri Bearcats at Leggett & Platt Athletic Center at 7 pm.
