Kansas City, Mo. — Missouri Southern senior thrower Dustin Green has been named the MIAA Men’s Track and Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office today.

dustin-greenGreen competed in two separate meets this weekend as the Lions participated in back-to-back meets at the University of the Redlands in California and at the University of Nevada – Las Vegas.

At the Redlands, the Conway Springs, Kan. native picked up three provisionals and two event wins. He took home the title in the discus and the hammer, while placing third in the shot put. In the discus, Green threw a provisional distance of 168 feet. In the hammer, Green again hit a provisional with a distance of 180-06. His distance of 52-11.50 in the shot put was a provisional, but placed third behind two of his teammates.

At UNLV, Green again won the discus with a provisional distance of 167-05. He placed second in the shot with another provisional of 54-06. He currently ranks fourth in the shot put, fifth in the discus and tenth in the hammer in the early outdoor season.
