Missouri Southern State University will continue its commemoration of the 75th anniversary of Missouri Southern with “Southern Spree” on Friday and Saturday, April 26-27.

Faculty, staff, students and the public are invited.  Due to rain, events Friday will take place indoors in and around the Lion’s Den.  The Lion’s Den is also the backup location for Saturday in the case of inclement weather.

The days will include a variety of activities and events including a campus/community picnic, a book signing by authors from the MSSU community, a 5-K run, an encore of the play The Patsy (the first play produced at Joplin Junior College), music, food and fun on the MSSU campus Oval.

Off campus, the weekend will include a Community Concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 at the First Community Church at 15th and Connecticut in Joplin.

Registration for the 5K Run is $25.  Faculty, staff and students eat for free on Friday.  The cost to the community is $5.
