Graduates of the Nursing program at Missouri Southern State University will take part in a formal pinning ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 10 in Corley Auditorium in Webster Hall at MSSU.
Grace Ayton, associate professor of Nursing and interim director of the Department of Nursing will welcome 47 graduates.
Introductions will be made by Dr. Tia Strait, dean, School of Health Science, Public Safety and Technology.
MSSU president Dr. Bruce Speck will make remarks to the graduates.
Elizabeth Strausbaugh, 2013 Nursing Program graduate, will deliver the invocation.
William “Kip” Davis, assistant professor, Department of Nursing, will make remarks.
The Spirit of Nursing Award will be presented by Capt. Louie Pineda and Sgt. First Class Timothy Britt, both of the U.S. Army.
Baccalaureate Degree candidates will be presented by Lauren Haggard, assistant professor of Nursing.
Grace Ayton and Pat Hempsmyer, assistant professor of Nursing, will formally pin the graduates.
Chris Eller, associate professor of Nursing, will make the Rose Presentation.
The benediction will be delivered by Brittany Jenkins, 2013 Nursing graduate.
Candle lighters will be Chrys Corcoran and Vivian Jackson, both assistant professors of Nursing.
“The Nightingale Pledge” will be led by Kelli Blanton, assistant professor of Nursing.
Dr. Pat Lipira, interim vice president for Academic Affairs, will present the Class of 2013.
