The Biology Pond provides a scene of bucolic solitude on the west side of the Missouri Southern campus. Fish, turtles, insects, frogs and other creatures call it home.
Spanned by a red Japanese bridge, the body of water has served as a lab for many years for Southern Biology students.
Interestingly, before it was restored to nature, the pond was a swimming pool for the Buchanan and Wallower families who lived in the Mission Hills Mansion.
