Friends and family members of graduates participating in the spring 2013 Commencement Ceremony at Missouri Southern State University this Saturday will have an opportunity to participate in the event whatever their locale may be, thanks to technology and the internet.
The university will stream the event live, broadcasting commencement activities using the university’s official website (http://www.mssu.edu ).
The webcast will be accessible on either a PC or Mac system. The ceremony, which begins at 9:30 a.m., can be viewed at http://www.mssu.edu/news/commencement-video.php. Computers will need to be installed with a media player such as Windows Media Player or Real Player. The second ceremony begins at noon.
“This effort is a great example of how we are putting technology to work for our constituents,” said Albert Stadler, chief information officer at MSSU. “Commencement is one of the largest events of the year at Missouri Southern and it’s always exciting to be able to broadcast it to people with internet access in this manner.”
Stadler also says graduates are asked to express their feelings about graduation on their Twitter accounts.
They should address comments to #twitter.
