The Lion King 1 1/2, the second part of the Lion King Trilogy, will be shown at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2 in Phelps Theater in the bottom floor of the Billingsly Student Center.
Campus and community are invited. There is no charge to attend.
The story is told by characters Timon and Pumbaa. The two are shown watching the original Lion King, being seen in silhouette commenting on the movie (similar to Mystery Science Theater 3000). Along the way the stop the film and talk with each other, showing new details. The film is a prequel, parallel story to the original 1994 film.
Voices include Nathan Lane, Ernie Sabella, Julie Kavner, Jerry Stiller, Matthew Broderick, Robert Guillame. Cheech Marin, Whoopi Goldberg, and Edward Hibbert (to name a few).
The Lion King 2 will be shown on July 9.
