Dr. Al Cade, interim dean of the School of Education, has been elected to positions with two organizations dedicated to strengthening teacher education programs.

He was recently elected to the executive board for the Missouri Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. The organization is a state affiliate of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. Their mission statement says that the national alliance of educator preparation programs is “dedicated to the highest quality professional development of teachers and school leaders in order to enhance PK-12 student learning.”

Last week, Cade was also elected vice-chairman for the Missouri Council of Education Deans. The group’s task is to effect policy and change to the development of high quality educators who ensure PK-12 students in Missouri have the best possible education, he said.
