More than 100 businesses and non-profits will be on campus for the Welcome Week Community Day from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, on the Oval. Sample products from local businesses, look for a part-time job or discover opportunities to volunteer.
“It’s a carnival-style event that allows them to introduce their organization to our students, faculty and staff,” said Nicole Brown, director of Career Services. “There’s a huge market here they can reach. There are giveaways of all sorts, from snow cones to coupons, and lots of games. It’s a fun kickoff to the year.”
The event will be moved to the Beimdiek Recreation Center in the event of rain.
