“Bliss” will be screened at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, in Cornell Auditorium. It will be the final entry in the International Film Society’s Turkish Film Festival.

The film centers on a 17-year-old girl, Meryem, who is raped and condemned to death by her village’s ancient moral code. Cernal, a cousin who has just returned from the war, is ordered to restore the family’s honor by carrying out the task.

O.Z. Livaneli, the author of the book upon which the movie is based, will visit Missouri Southern Jan. 15-16.
