For the fourth year, Crossroads, the Missouri Southern Alumni Association magazine, is an award recipient in the MarCom Awards competition.

The magazine received five Gold Awards in the 2014 competition. The fall 2013 and spring 2014 issues each received Gold for Writing and Magazine/Association categories. The fall 2013 issue also received Gold for photography.

“It’s such an honor for our students and Crossroads to be recognized with MarCom Awards for four years in a row,” said Rhonda Clark, assistant professor of communication and editor of Crossroads. “It’s great to see our students’ work receive recognition alongside professional organizations from around the world.”

Crossroads is written, photographed, designed and edited by students in the Missouri Southern State University Communication Department. The magazine, published two times a year, is the official publication for the Missouri Southern Alumni Association.

MarCom Awards announced the winners for the 2014 international competition in November. The competition recognizes outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communication professionals. More than 6,500 entries from throughout the United States, Canada and 15 other countries were entered in the 2014 competition.

Winners were selected from more than 200 categories in seven forms of media and communication efforts: marketing, publications, marketing/promotion, public service/pro bono, creativity and electronic/interactive. About 17 percent of the entries won the Platinum Award, the organization’s top honor, and 23 percent won Gold awards.
