Joplin, MO (SNS) – A new edition of “Newsmakers” and four student interview programs will be aired on KGCS-TV.

The upcoming “Newsmakers” program will focus on the Connect2Culture arts organization in Joplin. Clifford Wert, co-vice president and treasurer, will discuss recent proposals by the organization to work with the Joplin School District and the city of Joplin to explore developing additional arts facilities in the city, as well as ongoing efforts to promote arts in the region.

The program may be seen on KGCS-TV at the following times next week:

Sunday, Jan. 11 – 5:30 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 12 – 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Jan. 13 – 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 14 – 5:30 p.m.

The interview will also air on KOAM-TV at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17.

Four programs produced by students in the Department of Communication’s Professional Interviewing class will feature information about the campus and community. They include “Community Highlights,” with interviews with community agencies and volunteers; “Window on the World,” focusing on the international mission at Missouri Southern and international students; “Southern Today,” featuring interviews with Southern students; and “Athletic Spotlight,” featuring interviews with student-athletes.

Tuesday, Jan. 13 – 7:30 p.m. – “Window on the World”
Wednesday, Jan. 14 – 6:00 p.m. – “Southern Today”
Wednesday, Jan. 14 – 8:30 p.m. – “Community Highlights”
