Joplin, MO (SNS) – The Alpha Sigma Alpha chapter at Missouri Southern State University will host the annual “Take Back the Night” event at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 16, on the campus Oval.

The event is designed to raise awareness and educate the public on issues of violence against women, to celebrate women and girls, and to support and empower survivors. Representatives from Joplin’s Lafayette House – which offers a safe sanctuary for women and children in order to break the cycles of domestic violence and addiction – will be on hand to talk about the services offered to the community.

“Take Back the Night” is free and open to the public.
