Joplin, MO (SNS) – Dost thy child haveth the acting bug? Wherefore dost thou turn?

The Summer Shakespeare Academy will offer young thespians an introduction to the Bard when it is held June 22-26 at Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School, 3401 E. Newman Road.

The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26, with a camp performance at 12:30 p.m. on the final day.

It is being held in conjunction with the Missouri Shakespeare Festival, which will stage “The Tempest” that week in the Bud Walton Theatre at Missouri Southern State University. Cast and crew members from the production will offer middle- and high-school students instruction in Shakespearean language, performance and even stage fighting.
