Joplin, MO (SNS) – How would you react if a family member was completely honest with you? What if you found a friend who would never give up on you, even after your betrayal? What if the person you wanted did not need you?
Those questions and more are at the heart of “The Secret Rapture,” to be presented at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, through Saturday, Sept. 19, in the Bud Walton Theatre at Missouri Southern State University.
Directed by Tim Klein, the play centers on estranged sisters Isobel and Marion, who reunite following the death of their father. Together, they must decide what to do with their alcoholic, mentally unstable step-mother, Katherine. Due to explicit language and adult situations, the production is for mature audiences only.
Admission is free for Missouri Southern students and staff; $5 for adults; and $3 for senior citizens and other students.
Box office hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Reservations can also be placed by calling 417-625-3190 or visiting www.mssu.edu/ticket-office.
For requests for accommodations related to a disability, contact Terri Spencer at 417-625-9393 at least 72 hours before a performance.
