Joplin, MO (SNS) – KXMS, the radio station at Missouri Southern State University, will air a special one-hour program featuring student interviews from around campus at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16.

The audio version of “Newsmakers” features students from the Professional Interviewing class. They interview a variety of guests on a wide range of topics, including various departments on campus such as the Student Success Center, Financial Aid, Career Services and Student Activities. The interviews also focus on residence life, student employment and campus clubs.

“Students were given an assignment to conduct a short interview on campus featuring information that would be of interest to those on campus as well in the community,” said Judy Stiles, course instructor and general manager of KGCS-TV. “The wide range of topics covered show many different aspects of life at Missouri Southern. We’re glad to be able to share these interviews with the radio station.”

Earlier this semester, student interviews were featured on new television programs airing on KGCS. Students are currently working as groups on additional interview programs to air later in the semester.

KXMS programming may be heard at 88.7 FM, and KGCS-TV programming may be seen over the air on digital channel 22 and regional cable television systems.  Both broadcast stations operate as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
