Joplin, MO (SNS) – New editions of “Newsmakers” and “Joplin Insider” are scheduled to air on KGCS-TV.

“Newsmakers” will focus on the damage and recovery efforts following the December flooding along Shoal Creek near the Wildcat Glades Conservation and Audubon Center. Christ Pistole, the center’s education director, will share photos of the damage and discuss the community support involved in the recovery. He will also share information about education efforts, including a grant program in conjunction with area schools.

The interview will air at the following times:

Sunday, Feb. 7: 5:30 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 8: 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 9: 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 10: 5:30 p.m.

During “Joplin Insider,” Joplin Public Information Officer Lynn Onstot will interview Assistant Police Chief Matt Stewart, who will become the city’s new police chief next month. They will discuss the structure and operations of the police department.

Wednesday, Feb. 17: 6 p.m.

Both programs are also available to view on the station’s YouTube channel.

KGCS programming may be seen over the air on digital channel 22, as well as on regional cable television systems.  The station operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
