Joplin, Mo. — Missouri Southern senior guard Taevaunn Prince has been named a first-team All-Region selection as announced by the Division II 
Conference Commissioner’s Association today.
Sports information directors from NCAA Division II Central Region schools and conferences selected the D2CCA all-region teams. The process concludes with All-American selections announced later in the month. Prince’s name goes on the national ballot for All-America now.
Prince earns his first All-Region selection and was a unanimous First-Team All-MIAA. He currently leads Division II in free throw attempts, free throws made, points per game and total points. He ranks 11th nationally in defensive rebounds per game, 17th in double-doubles, 16th in rebounds per game, 14th in total field goals and total rebounds, 29th in total minutes and 44th in total field goal attempts.
Prince leads the MIAA in defensive rebounds, double-doubles, field goal percentage, free throw attempts, free throws made, scoring and total points, while ranking second in rebounds. He had ten 30-point games this season, 13 double-doubles, scored 20 points or more in all but three games, as well as 15 points or more in every game.
He holds the MSSU and MIAA record for single-season made FT’s (273) and is the MSSU career record holder for single-season points (791). He also is the MSSU Record holder in single season (26.4) and career scoring average (21.4), while scoring the most career points (1,303) for a two-year player in MSSU history.
Prince joins fellow MIAA players Connor Beranek of Nebraska-Kearney and Justin Pitts of Northwest Missouri on the All-Region team. Augustana’s Daniel Jansen was the Region Player of the Year, while his teammate Casey Schilling was also named first-team All-Region.
